Viva la Vida 2013 was an incredible success! Things started on Saturday, July 20, at the Q Center with Voz Alta – Amor! Amor! Amor! Standing room only for an amazing show written by PLGP Board Member Joaquin Lopez. The evening included the presentation of annual Mariposa Award and PLGP Scholarship. Such a moving evening filled with gratitude, pride, and love.
Sunday, July 21 was a big day for Portland Latino Gay Pride! The 8th Annual PLGP Festival returned to Jupiter Hotel. 20 exhibitors, tasty tamales & tacos, strong cocktails, special performances, and non-stop DJ music kept everyone moving and having a great time. Record crowds, Samba dance lesson, courtesy of Bloco Alegria and a show-stopping performance by Meesha Peru were festival highlights.
Once PLGP Festival wrapped everyone went to Embers Nightclub for Viva la Vida Dance Party! Latino/a night at Embers had never been this crowded and everyone was on the dance floor, all night long. Go-Go Boys and Girls kept things moving and shaking, an unforgettable night to close Portland Latino Gay Pride 2013.
